Drabble Meme

Snagged from just about everyone. I felt guilty requesting for Drabbles and not posting this. But I'm also quite confident no one will ask for anything so hehehe.

But just in case someone does request something-- I'm only in the Supernatural and J2 fandoms so I'm afraid that's all I can offer. And I'm not confident writing anything NC-17 so ask that at your own risk. LOL. Final warning: I've never written fanfic before but I'll give it a shot. Hehe.

"The first FIVE people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level."

When you see this, post another Supernatural quote in your lj. Let's see how long this can go on for.

***

Dean: What could you possibly say that would sound crazy to me?

Sam: Uhm, Evil Santa.

Dean: Yeah, that's crazy.

I am still recovering from yesterday's long day of doom-- slept at 330am but at least I woke up at 11am.

But I realized that I'm still operating on reserves when instead of feeling frustrated or angry with one of my writers, all the strength I could muster just went to trying really really hard to make sure that this time she thoroughly understood my instructions.

Sometimes I wonder if I am communicating as clearly as I think but then again 2 out of 3 people understood me so I would think it was pretty clear. *sigh*

F and I were chatting earlier trying to get a handle on whether we were nerds, geeks or dorks. I argued that I used to be more of a nerd than anything but as I got older I became more geeky. Apparently there's a test to determine which one you are.

Turns out I am both. )

Loooooong Day

Today just about kicked my ass all over the place.

Had to finish some stuff til 2am then had to be up at 6am. Then had to keep my energy up so the people in the workshop wouldn't fall asleep on me.

And now, at close to midnight, I still can't go to bed cuz I'm supposed to finish more stuff. Thing is when I'm reading the stuff I am supposed to be editing, I am slurring the words in my head.

It totally feels like I have a hangover without all the fun stuff that came before it. Dang.

Maybe I should nap first?

So just a little movie round-up. Like I said, since I am de-hermiting I've been hitting the theaters again. Feels strange to actually say this considering that I used to watch 2-3 movies a week in the cinema.

Well, just goes to show how life has changed.

Okay so just some impressions...

2008 movies I've caught... so far )

Lois and I were at a Spa last Sunday and had an interesting conversation.

After the rather disappointing epilogue to the Avatar finale (sidenote: i'll get to my protestations about it in a bit), I asked her to write me some fanfic to erase that ending in my head.

She said, "I no longer write for pleasure."

And I realized that the same is true for me.

I mean don't get me wrong I still love to write, but when you write for a living-- what used to be something that I loved to do to take a break, became something I needed to take a break from.

It's one of the reasons this is the first time I got into blogging (and I haven't even truly embraced it all the way).

And I'm actually missing it... getting immersed in a world of my creation, crafting a plot that makes my head wonder and my heart race, waiting to see where a character will take me as I let them loose in the playground I created.

I haven't seen that side of myself for a long while. Maybe we need to get reacquainted.

Sigh.

But I don't know if I have the energy for all this right now.

I am actually tempted to join this challenge thingie kamikazeremix just so I could be sortta forced to write. Maybe jumpstart my fiction again.

But it also scares me.

So I am in a sort of waiting game.

In the meantime, I am in awe with the kind of quality work that people are churning out in the Supernatural fandom. It's the first time I've ever actually gotten into fanfic but it sure makes waiting for Season bearable.

Writer's Block: Supermarket Grabfest

You have three minutes to grab everything you can from a supermarket. Which items do you go for?

View 501 Answers

Hmmm... what a toughie. I love lingering in the supermarket. It's become almost like a field trip for me.

So let's see. Assuming that I was out of everything on my list??

For food stuff: steak, veggies (potatoes and corn), fruits (whatever is available)
For non-food stuff: toilet paper, toothpaste,

Yeah I think that would have to be my main priorities. Hehe.

New Music

It's funny. Been awhile since the last time I actually listened to the radio, let alone watch an MTV. Its no wonder all the songs in my repertoire are all early post-college music.

Today I listened to a friend's collection on her Ipod and discovered that my laments about how "old" music is better than "today's" music proved to be unfounded. There are still some decent artists out there.

But now that radio holds no interest for me and I don't watch television, I wonder how I'm supposed to discover the new music out there.

Any thoughts?

I fill my days with other people's words so that my own don't surface and I won't have to deal with them.

I push and push and push it all away hoping that one day they'll be so far away that I won't need to see them anymore.

Meanwhile you sit there uncaring that I am drowning right in front of you-- not even knowing the telltale signs of my slow demise.

Tell me... when did we start falling apart?

Writer's Block: In the Shoes of an Extravagant Restaurant Owner

If you started a restaurant, what would it serve, what would it look like and what would you name it? You have an unlimited budget.

Cool.

The restaurant would be a "choose your own adventure" type of place. Where instead of ordering a dish from a menu. You'll be given a list of ingredients in stock that day (and its gonna be a really looong list of ingredients) and you choose what you want your dish to be made of.

Then the chef will whip up a surprise dish based on the ingredients you chose.

Ambience? Maybe the middle will be sort of like kitchen stadium with an open kitchen where you can see your dish being made.

I think I would call this restaurant: Choice Picks. LOL.
